Established in 2000, CLS Dual Fuel Ltd swiftly became one of the countries leading specialist LPG conversion companies based in Northeast England. Providing a tailored solution in alternative fuelled vehicles; covering both the public and private sector markets, the company succeeded in their aim to offer a uniquely convenient service designed to reduce both the running costs of a petrol powered vehicle and its emissions. Nearly seven years on and over one thousand vehicles later CLS are currently installing around two hundred vehicles a year and pride themselves in offering an unrivalled service to their customers.
The opportunity to diversify the business came 2005 in the form of importer and distributor of the BRC LPG system. Gary Bowden; Md of CLS, reflects on the decision to undertake such a challenge-
“Prior to becoming an official importer of BRC LPG equipment we had been converting for over five years at a consistent rate of four to five vehicles per week. During that time we were trained on and fitting a number of systems, which are still available today, until approximately two years ago when we installed our first BRC Sequent system. We were so impressed with the quality of the components and its operational abilities that we took it on board. Gradually becoming increasingly confident with the equipment, we were encouraged by frequent BRC software improvements and reliability so when in May 2005 we were given the opportunity to become importers of BRC we jumped at the chance.
BRC are one of the largest manufacturers of LPG/CNG equipment in the world today. Established in 1977, with over seven hundred employees, they supply over sixty countries worldwide so it comes as no surprise to learn that BRC Gas equipment is branded to PSA Group, Ford, Chrysler, VAG, Fiat, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Chevrolet, Suzuki and Hyundai to name but a few. BRC convert over one thousand Chevrolets every month in Italy alone! Uniquely MTM BRC is not dependent upon outside production of their injectors or software updates, in-house design and manufacturing make communication and development very simple”.
In addition to their system distribution CLS also offer a national network of first class BRC installers, hand picked from over 200 Approved installers for their knowledge and immaculate working standards along with their dedication to customer services. However, not content with the success of their expansion, the cogs of the CLS machine are still moving, and they are equally proud of their latest achievement. CLS and BRC have focused on the demand for congestion charge exempt commercial vehicles for London, and after research and development carried out at the BRC site in Italy have put the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Ford Transit onto the Powershift register. For further information on running a commercial vehicle in the Congestion Charge Zone, or related topics please call Gary or Jackie who will be happy to assist where possible.
